JOHN'S PERSPECTIVE

When I ran for this council seat four years ago, I pledged to help this can-do city keep its edge. I pledged to work collaboratively with everyone to make sure progress was done right so that all Oswegans were provided exceptional services. I pledged on focusing our budget so that we prioritized our goals and accomplished them in a financially responsible way. I’m passionate about this city and think that in the last four years I and my fellow councilors have achieved a great many of the goals and pledges we made to you.

It was an easy choice for me to run for re-election. I want to help complete some unfinished projects to keep LO an exceptional, highly functioning city. COVID loosened some bonds between us and we must bring all community organizations back together and continue to make this city an inclusive place where the reality of our community is that it is indeed a great place to live, work and to play.

Priorities And Goals For The Next Four years

  • 1

Continue to foster more police oversight. Keep a high standard of public safety so all people in our communities and neighborhoods are safe.

  • 2

Complete Park Bond projects including LO Recreation and Aquatics Center, Rassakh Park and Skate Center, Golf Course remodel, Luscher Farm improvements.

  • 3

Continue supporting economic development with our existing businesses and with projects like the North Anchor project which will bring a new boutique hotel and apartments.

  • 4

Continue to invest in basic infrastructure – water, sewer, roads and pathways.

  • 5

Determine the right path to replace the Sewer Treatment Plant.

  • 6

Protect our interests with the newly mandated State of Oregon housing density and development codes.

  • 7

Be mindful of having a sustainability and climate change mindset when setting policy.

  • 8

Continue the implementation of our DEI strategy to ensure LO is a welcoming place for all

My previous experience on the LO School Board and now on the LO City Council for four years, has resulted in bringing differing views to the table and melding differing visions into practical solutions.

I’m here to serve you and the community of Lake Oswego and ask for your support and vote to continue to move this city forward into a sustainable future.

Together let’s continue to keep our edge!
